Squid Uses Mismatched Eyes to Navigate the 'Twilight Zone' | Video

The cockeyed squid (Histioteuthis heteropsis) has two mismatched eyes — one large and one tiny. Now, researchers have determined why: the large eye looks upward, searching for sea creatures and possible predators, while the tiny eye gazes downward, likely looking for flashes of bioluminescence.
